These are not a one-day job and are not meant to be. Pick the freestyle studio and they become three cue-led takes per week rather than several hundred separate sentences — see the note under the blocks.

Two ways to record the same course, and they are not equal

Freestyle — recommended

Three takes per week from cues, not a script. About 28 sittings for both courses instead of five hundred lines. It sounds like you, because you are talking rather than reading.

Line studio

Every sentence separately. Slow, but it is the right tool when one specific line needs replacing later without re-recording a whole week.

Before you start

  1. One room, one distance. Anything recorded a foot closer will not cut against the rest.
  2. Leave a breath at each end. It gives the edit somewhere to go.
  3. Fluff a line, just say it again. Do not re-arm — the later take wins and the studio keeps the last one.
  4. Download the ZIP before you close the tab. Takes live in this browser's storage; clearing site data clears them.
  5. The demo film is timed. Its lines are cut to the cards already on screen, so read at a natural pace rather than racing the clock.
