Privacy policy for The Line

StoryC Ltd · The Line for iOS, version 1.0 · last updated 15 September 2026

The short version. The Line has no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising, and it makes no network requests. Everything you type into it — your role, your answers, your line and your daily checks — is stored on your phone and nowhere else. We cannot see it, and we do not receive it. You can export it or delete it at any time from Settings inside the app.

Who we are

The Line is published by StoryC Ltd (trading as AI-Augmented Consulting™), company number 17293375, registered office 60 Redwood Drive, Epsom KT19 8, United Kingdom. StoryC Ltd is the data controller for anything described on this page. Contact: hello@storycltd.co.uk.

What the app does not do

Things you choose to do

App Store privacy label

Our App Store listing declares Data Not Collected. That is accurate for the reasons above.

Children

The app is rated 4+ because it contains nothing unsuitable, but it is designed for working professionals and is not directed at children.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Because the app sends us nothing, the practical way to exercise these rights is inside the app: Settings → Export my data, or Settings → Delete everything.

Withdrawing consent. The only consents the app asks for are the in-app AI and data statement and, if you choose it, notification permission for the daily reminder. To withdraw them: turn the reminder off in Settings (or in iOS Settings → Notifications → The Line), and use Settings → Delete everything, which removes your line, your checks and the record that you read the statement. Deleting the app has the same effect. Retention: data is kept on your device until you delete it or remove the app; we hold nothing, so there is nothing for us to retain.

If you contact us about the app we will hold your message under the site privacy policy. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have handled your data wrongly.

Changes

If a future version of the app ever collects data (for example an optional sync to the Validated Line), we will update this page, change the App Store privacy label, and ask for your consent inside the app before anything is sent. The in-app AI and data statement carries a version number so you can see when it has changed.
